Getting There

The Euroa Arboretum is located 3km from the centre of Nagambie. It is outdoors, with basic shelter and facilities available. Car parking is available at the entrance of the Euroa Arboretum, this is a 300m walk from the start of our wawa biik experience along a flat path. From the Welcome and information sign follow a board walk for (recycled plastic material) 10m before turning right along a path of compressed clay soil with an overlay of rocky gravel (maximum aggregate size is approximately 13-20mm). From the picnic shelter, access the experience through a short, 10m, corridor framed by rusted metal arches and compressed red gravel/soil underfoot.

Parking is also available closer adjacent to the picnic shelter and 10m from the start of the wawa biik experience. This can be utilised upon request. From here, the meeting point is accessed up a short concrete ramp, across brick paving and over undulating rock (pictured). Alternatively, use the entrance carpark and travel from board walk to path, avoiding the above surfaces.

There are picnic tables and chairs at the shelter.

Paths/Access

All walking paths are relatively flat with a width of 1.5-2m. There is a mixture of surfaces from clay soil with an overlay of rock, moss and compact gravel. Maximum aggregate size of gravel is approximately 13-20mm. During wetter months, the ground can be slightly muddy or slippery with some puddles. Care is required when traveling along these paths.

Allergies

During our ceremonies we utilise smoke to cleanse our spirit and land and ensure your safe passage on Country. Please notify us prior if eucalyptus smoke may cause an issue. As our experiences aim to engage all senses we will invite guests to touch and smell elements of Country such as plants.

Dietary requirements can be catered to upon request. Please notify us of any allergies upon booking.

Mobility

Expect a short, non strenuous stroll (maximum 1-hour) across uneven ground that is unpaved. This is outdoors so sun, wind or rain protection is recommended. All the terrain is flat but there are some small obstacles such as sticks, small rocks, puddles or compressed clay soils. There is seating available at the picnic shelter but there is an approximately 1-hour period of standing.

Sound

The experience is generally quiet apart from the sounds of Country such as birds or frogs. The Euroa Arboretum is located close to the highway so sounds of cars and trucks can be heard at points. There may be music played at a quiet level during the experience. Service dogs are permitted within this experience. Water and shelter are available for service animals.

Getting There

The meeting point for the experience is outside the Tahbilk Wetlands View Restaurant located at 142 Mulberry Dr, Tabilk VIC 3608. This is 5km from the centre of Nagambie. The restaurant is well signed from the entrance of the winery.

Carparking is available within wooden fencing, divided into two sections adjacent to the restaurant building. The left section (closest to the building) has a flat, direct walkway to the entrance of the restaurant. The main entrance to the restaurant is up a relatively sleep slope. There are picnic tables to the right of the entrance. Prior to the experience, accessible toilets can be accessed in the restaurant by asking your guide.

Entry to the restaurant is via a glass door with wooden detailing and a lever handle. The door is moderately heavy and swings outwards. Inside the restaurant is polished wooden floorboards. Tables are 750mm high with moveable chairs. There are glass doors with wooden detailing that provide access to a wooden deck. There is a small 2cm lip on the ground between the inside and outside area of the restaurant.

Paths

The Indigenous Flora Trail along the Tahbilk wetlands is relatively flat. There is a mixture of gravel, rocky, firm clay and wooden board walk along the paths. In wetter months, paths can be slippery in some sections. Paths are 1.5m-2m wide. Aggregate gravel size can be between 15-20mm.

Toilet Facilities

Toilets are available at Tahbilk Wetlands Restaurant (or at the Cellar Door at the winery). There is a designated accessible toilet and baby change table. Please see photos below.
For approximately 2-3 hours of the experience a toilet will not be available.

The Bus

The experience involves travel on the wawa biik bus. It is an 18 passenger Toyota Coaster with a 4WD conversion and added wheelchair lift. The bus is a little higher than your typical coaster. It can be boarded via two small steps. There is a hydraulic wheelchair access from the back of the vehicle. The bus can carry one passenger with a wheelchair at a time. Please advise of any mobility aids when booking to ensure these can be stored safely on the bus.

The Boat

The path to the boat from the Restaurant has a surface of compressed clay soil and rocky gravel. It is approximately 20m down to the landing with a moderate decline (or incline upon return). The boat can be boarded via a ramp however there can be up to an 80mm lip between ground and the ramp. Disembarking the boat uses the ramp however at landings along the wetlands may also require traversing sometimes moderately steep banks.

Sound

The experiences are generally quiet apart from the sounds of Country such as birds, frogs, water and the wind. We travel by bus that has a diesel engine. The boat we take at Tahbilk Wetlands is electric, so we float along quietly with no engine noise. Given Tahbilk’s proximity to Puckapunyal Army Base, there can be the sounds of distant explosions. There is quiet music played on occasion during the experience.

Service dogs are permitted within this experience. Water and shelter are available for service animals.
