wawa biik Partners

There are many inspiring people and businesses living and working on Taungurung Country. wawa biik values the ongoing support and collaboration of our amazing partners. We are proud to walk alongside the following businesses and organisations to deliver cultural experiences that support Taungurung aspirations for Community, Culture and Country:

The Euroa Arboretum ‘The Arb’, is a special 27 hectare pocket of Country, nurtured by a passionate team committed to the restoration of our native woodlands. Boasting wetlands, various woodland environments, large River Red Gums and native grasses, it is a haven for seasonal birdlife, frogs, native bush foods and a colourful array of wildflowers . The Arb’s impact extends well beyond its boundaries however as it is home to the Goulburn Broken Indigenous Seedbank. plant nursery, education programs, bush kinder and community events, which contributes to healthy habitats and communities right across Taungurung Country. The Arb also works directly with Biik Environmental, Taungurung Rangers and Taungurung community members to share knowledge of Country and celebrate Taungurung cultural practices. You’ll likely meet Cath Olive and the team during our wawa Euroa experience, where you can learn first-hand about the inspiring work that they do.

Tahbilk is a carbon neutral winery in the wetlands of Nagambie on Taungurung Country. For thousands of generations, Tahbilk has been known by Taungurung as tabilk tabilk – a special place of many waterholes. In addition to a cellar door and restaurant, Tahbilk includes a selection of walking eco-trails that wind through biodiverse wetlands with over 105 bird species and unique aquatic life including catfish, waterlilies, platypus and frogs. In 2021, Tahbilk launched an Indigenous Flora Trail, developed in collaboration with Taungurung Elders and the Purbrick Family. This walk shares the stories and histories of Taungurung People and is featured on our wawa Nagambie and wawa tabilk tabilk experiences. wawa biik guests can extend their Tahbilk experience with a wine tasting or lunch at the Wetlands View Restaurant that overlooks the backwaters of the Tahbilk billabong

We acknowledge and pay respects to Taungurung Ancestors and Elders, past present and emerging. We continue to remain strong in culture, traditions and memories of those who have paved the way for Taungurung People and Country. We move forward proudly and thank our Ancestors for their guidance and protection throughout our journey.

The National Walk for Truth is a powerful journey from Victorian Parliament House to Parliament House, led by Travis Lovett, calling for a national truth-telling process shaped in genuine partnership with First Nations People. As part of this significant journey, the walk will travel through Taungurung Country from 21–28 April, offering a meaningful opportunity for local communities to take part.
Participants are invited to join sections of the walk in and around Seymour and Nagambie, walking together in solidarity, reflection and respect. This stretch of the journey is a chance to honour the strength, resilience and living culture of First Nations People while contributing to a broader national movement for truth, healing and change, culminating during National Reconciliation Week.

Today is International Women’s Day!

We’re taking this moment to honour the strength, resilience and excellence of deadly women across Taungurung community. Our women carry culture, guide our young ones, protect Country and hold stories that keep us grounded. Their work, both seen and unseen, shapes our communities.

Today we also recognise the achievements of women around the world who stand strong, lift others up and create change in every space they walk into.

To all the deadly women in our community and beyond: we see you, we appreciate you, and we celebrate you.

Happy International Women’s Day!

We are always so grateful for the opportunity to yarn and share Culture with our local government partners, out on Taungurung biik, where we can immerse people in our stories. Great to welcome Benalla Rural City Council Executive staff and RAP team.

After much rain, our wawa biik bus sloshed us through the mud, we had time for reflection and connection at our cultural sites, we tuned in to the diversity of wildlife around us and had positive chats led by our guides Matt and Ben.

As we`ve said before, this is not work, this is an honour!

Deadly group. Deadly day! Ngun Godjin (thank-you!). 💌
