World Rivers Days is celebrated around the globe on 22nd September. Rivers hold deep cultural significance to all Taungurung people. Our rivers include the waring (Goulburn River), Campaspe, Murchison, Ovens, Broken and Rubicon Rivers.

On World River’s Day we give thanks to all our rivers and waterways which are the lifeblood of Country. We continue to advocate for the protection and Taungurung led management of all important rivers and waterways on Taungurung Country, including the Rubicon River which is currently under threat to be dammed and diverted. We invite everyone to help us save this much-loved and precious waterway.
